Weekly Recipe Drop
Blood Orange Whitefish with Butter Bean Salad, Chimmichurri Marinade, Spatchcock Aleppo Pepper Chicken, and GF Spiced Banana Cookies
Happy Sunday! I hope you guys are enjoying the gorgeous weather and extra hours of sunlight as much as I am. I have some delicious recipes with gorgeous seasonal veg for you guys this week, featuring a blood orange whitefish and light bean salad, soft gluten-free spiced banana cookies, a versatile chimichurri marinade, and a spicy and delicious Aleppo pepper chicken! You may also notice things look a little different this week and I have some exciting updates for you guys ✨

I can’t overstate how much Substack has changed my life and how much I value the community I have on here 💕. I feel like I owe it to you guys to bring you the best possible content and as the community on here grows I can do that more and more. I want to give some insight on what that looks like behind the scenes!
Before now, it’s been just me. My process is typically: go to the grocery store and use seasonal fruit and veg for inspiration, come up with recipe and test 3x, photograph and send out. In my experience, it’s hard to do more than 3x/per week absolute maximum, and maintain quality and minimize burnout. But I think if you’re paying $5/month you deserve high-quality photos and multiple recipes/week.
This is definitely a big jump and professional leap of faith for me but I’ve started working with a food stylist and recipe photographer to have every recipe professionally photographed. I’ve started working with another recipe developer Julia Lundey to help thoroughly test my recipes and up the quantity. And I’ve hired an assistant to help me with organization, feedback, and planning. I believe strongly in a living wage and pay all of my contractors a minimum of $35/hour.
My long-term goal and what I want to bring you guys is:
10x recipes a month, professionally photographed and triple-tested.
Seasonal/holiday recipe drops with a hosting plan, tablescapes, shopping lists, and timelines. My goal for these is to create a one-stop shop for every event/holiday.
A resource for basic techniques and how-to’s with step-by-step photos and instructions + the science behind cooking.
I’m not going to lie. This is expensive and my first time trying to build something like this, so I want all of the feedback and input from you guys! As always, I so so appreciate your support and I’m so grateful to everyone who subscribes and makes this possible! If there’s recipes, products, things you want to see LET ME KNOW! Ily and you all are the best!
For this week’s meal prep I did a little bit of prep for these recipes. I made the spiced banana cookies, prepped the chimichurri marinade, prepped the blood orange marinade/dressing, and started marinating the chicken. This makes it easy to throw everything together in the fridge throughout the week!
