Creamy Crab Dip
The 49'ers are in the SuperBowl this year!! And since it happens to be in peak crab season we're making creamy crab dip. It's no bake, cream, flavorful and easy.
Creamy Crab Dip Recipe
Ingredients
2 broken-down fresh Dungeness crabs (about 1.5 cups of crab)
1 shallot
3 tbsp minced flat-leaf parsley
1 bunch of dill
1 bunch of tarragon
1 bunch of chives
1 block of cream cheese
1 cup of sour cream
1 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tsp wosterchire sauce
juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
Finely mince 1 shallot, the parsley, dill, tarragon, and chives. A good knife makes this easy. I prefer Japanese knives for vegetables, they get sharper and are more thin. Linking the one I used in the video if you’re looking to invest!
Add your minced shallot and herbs to a bowl with the cream cheese, sour cream, mustard, wosterchire sauce, and lemon juice.
Using a fork mix it thoroughly, you want it smooth with no chunks of cream cheese. Finish by whisking it to make sure it’s evenly mixed.
Add in the broken-down crab and whisk more until the crab is fully incorporated. You want crab in every bite.
Serve with a salty potato chip, there’s no salt in this recipe because it’s intended to be eaten with salty chips and I don’t want to give people a salt overload. It’s so good with sour cream and onion.
I serve this in a little baking dish and garnish with dill. Enjoy!
I tried making this but the first store I went to was sold out of crab and the second store only had ones that were frozen solid. I didn’t have time to thaw them and then break them down so I substituted with a package of smoked salmon and it still turned out amazing 🥰 (they didn’t have the right chips at the store either but the sea salt and vinegar flavor works great too 😅)
